Hi,
I am travelling to Marsa Alam at the end of November, having survived the scrum for visa stamps at Sharm a couple of years ago, does anyone know what it's like on arrival at Marsa Alam?

Hi there,

As far as I am aware the business of getting your visa stamps on arrival is a lot less stressful than in Sharm as it is a much quieter place and I have been told that often when the British flight arrives it is the only one there. If you compare the number of hotels in the Marsa Alam area to the number in Sharm they only have a small percentage of the number of guests arriving there.
Happy diving.

I prepaid my visa with Tony Backhurst for my trip to Marsa Alam this year.
On giving the local rep my voucher he gave me some Eygptian money and sent me to the Visa desk.
It would have been quicker, and cost the same if I hadn't bothered pre-ordering the visa!

Totally agree, but I can top that, our TB rep gave me the money for our whole party's visas and sent me to the desk, the guy behind the screen wouldn't give the TB rep the time of day. We were last to get through immigration and then I found my dive bag slashed by a would-be thief, oh joy...
