Hi Gnasher, there's a story to that I'm sure.....

Only been once, it was to Boca Chica in the South of the Island, near to Capital (San Domingo)...., about 6 years ago....

Weather and waves are supposed to better on the Caribbean coastline compared to the Atlantic Coast (so I'm told)...

We Used Treasure Divers (a German school, very good, but a bit pricey), also used Orca Divers (Maggie, from Germany, and Jaczala from Poland were very good people, also Andre, ex. French Foreign Legion, was Dive Master, good guy)...

It's a wonderful Island, if you like the energy of the Caribbean people, and Dancing, Merrangue!!! I did, it's great!!
At Boca Chica, there were (6 years ago) a lot of working girls in the main steet.... didn't make it too bad, probably not the best place for a family, unless you stay within the compound of the All Inclusive... that said very safe place, no problem with crime...., unlike some harder areas of Jamaica, where some places are "no go".... go for it!!

Have a great time, mid March is the best time to go...... let me know if you havd a good time...??

We are off to Bavaro in the north east of the Island we've not been before we to have made enquires to Treasure Divers. We are well loooking forward to it did you do any night dives?
