To cut a long story short....

Our club based in Yorkshire has had to cancel a charter to St Kilda in August due to the state of the boat in question.

We are now looking for alternatives as the 12 members who were booked on the trip have 9 days holiday booked.

Does anyone have any ideas / recommendations of good places on the south coast (namely cornwall) or islands such as the chanel islands or scilly isles.

We enjoy wreck diving, wall dives (well anything really) ideall it would be in the range 25m - 50m+.

All ideas, opinions and recommendations would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Barry :)

How about the Isle of Man?

Pickups available from the UK (Whitehaven). Some fab wrecks that see very little traffic, caves, gullies, stunning marine life and walls. Diving can be anywhere in the North Irish Sea, so could include Strangford Lough as well if you wanted.

Our boat has just been recoded by MCA for 12 + 2 crew. By August it will have a compressor on board as well as shower, toilet, microwave, kettle, heated cabin for all and a tail lift to deck level. You will need to book accommodation, but I can supply a list. Diving activities supported by BSAC C of E. Trimix, oxygen, nitrox etc available.

What dates are you looking for? Please PM me for more info if you are interested.

Ivor on Protector unfortunately doesnt go there anymore but Sark Diving Services have there own day boat if you want to go out via the ferries

Andy is a top guy too and did all of the Nitrox fills for us during our trip as he runs a compressor on the island for the commercial divers doing scalloping

Really recommend it as a destination which would suite wreckies and scenic bods alike and hope to be going back myself soon

Another alternative would be to try Normandy D-Day wreck diving with Steve off Channel Diver; did that last year and also an excellent combination of great diving and good top side activities
