Anyone been here ? I haven't booked yet - there may be other sites in the Caribbean that are better. I've done Tulum (Mexico), St Lucia and Antigua already, but need good snorkelling as the latter 2 didn't offer anything off the beach. Need to keep non-diving HB happy with it. Plus he likes to look at harbours, so I get brownie points if that's on the menu too. Prefer 2 dives in the morning so back at lunchtime. Any info appreciated. Similar post put on Yorkshire Divers.
TIA

Hi Chrystianne
We have quite a bit of information on Tobago. If you look in our Where to Dive section, you will find a whole lot of useful stuff on the island, the dive sites, how to get there etc. We also reference articles in the press and we have three pretty detailed dive reports on Tobago also referenced from that page.
From my knowledge Tobago offers superior Caribbean diving with quite a variety of sites from beginner to very advanced. Some sites have strong currents and make for pretty exciting drifts. There are also some superb wrecks.
Have a look at our pages and read the trip reports.
Allie
PS: We offer a ?15 voucher for each trip report published - why not send me some at alison.boler@bsactravelclub.co.uk !!!

Tobago was the best holiday ever according to my non diving wife, Stayed at Rex turtle, right on the beach on an all inclusive, try the Almond collada's, my no drinking wife got into them, that was fun too.
There was a dive operation there with a wreck just out in the bay. They run you to Speyside and around the island for some dives, You can take the catamaran tour and dive off of that it's great. Enjoy! we want to go back some day.

Tobago is small island with good diving at each end.The problem is it takes an hour to an hour and a half to drive from one end to the other.
R and Sea Divers at the Toucan inn, Crown Point are a 1st class opperation run by an English team with local Dive Masters. They will organise diving at both ends of the island and are great value for money. See ther web site www.ranseadivers.com
I believe Arnos vale is the best place to snorkel?
Contact R and Sea they will help.
Have a great holiday.
I am not conected to R and Sea, I have just dived with them a lot over the past few years.

To be honest, the lady wife and I were a little disappointed. Some reasonably interesting sites, reasonable viz, but not much marine life. I suspect we were on neaps - no currents at all to speak of - so you might like to time your visit to catch the currents.
If you go, do go to Speyside and stay with Sean - very interesting guy, good hotel, and better diving than the south west.
Having said that, we loved Tobago itself. Very uncommmercial - nice people, and a protected forest park that's been there for 2-300 years! That's forward thinking!
If you want both snorkelling and diving, why don't you go to the Maldives?
Pete
