Dive in herring shoals off NE coast...
Friday 23rd - departs Seahouses harbour

If you have a keen interest in marine life and are interested in some unusual diving then read on...

I am arranging charter of a hard boat out of Seahouses to go off shore (upto 10 miles out)with the aim of searching for herring shoals.

Having found the shoals divers will attempt to make "blue water" dives into the shoals, in an attempt to see what else is there...if anything!

Don't get too excited but the shoals are feed for seals/ dolphins and occasional minke whales.

There is NO guarentee that we will find a shoal and even less of seeing anything big ... but there is a chance!
A similar trip designed for above water viewing did see a minke on saturday 3rd sept.

Divers will need to be experienced.
It can be quite disorientating without any reference points (e.g bottom/wreck/reef.)

You need to be fit. (Able to swim strongly and deal with off shore swell).
All diving will be conducted with SMBs (not delayed but inflated from the start). Max depth is to be 25m.

The date is FRIDAY 23rd September.
Cost ?25-?30 per person. Includes 2 dives min.

Volunteers need to have there names to me asap.

All divers will be responsible for their own dive planning and safety (the SMB & 25m rule is fixed however for this trip)
Best regards,
Ben.
