Hi there everyone,
Just had a chat with my wife about Christmas and she said she wants christmas to be different this year, she said she'd like me to suprise her.

Erm, I thought for a while, what could she mean, different, suprise..................???????

So I thought........................................... . TAKE HER DIVING!!!!!

Does anyone know of a dive site open on christmas day??? I'm sure she means a suprise like this, what else could she mean!!
Cheers and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all,

Book yourself a week or 2 in the Red Sea leaving on Christmas Eve...and say "surprise! I am off...see you after New Year"

That should be a surprise she will never forget...in fact she may well remind you of it on a daily basis till the day that you die :-)

Slightly un-PC. But if she is a little on the tubby side.

Maybe a 12 month course of weight watchers.

Im thinking she would be quite surprised.

Or consider Eurostar. They’ve got some great deals on going to Paris so why not book a long weekend away for next year some point. Ladies love Paris, it is one of the most romantic places in the World, something like this should certainly surprise, delight and thrill her, and she will certainly look forward to the trip.

BTW you can book dinner up the Eiffel Tower, but don't tell her this. Take her to Paris, get dressed up for dinner, don't say where you are going, then take her to the Eiffel Tower. This should win you about a billion scuba points. (It did my other half).

A pamper day at http://www.champneys.com/ - this is a real touch of extravagant indulgence and something that your wife may well not treat herself to, but would enjoy.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers - I never tend to buy flowers - they are a luxury, but I really love receiving them.

Also have a look at http://reefjewelry.com/index.php?cPath=2_33, their Starfish collection is utterly charming.

If it just you too, and she's not sorted out catering for Christmas Day, put together a picnic of delicious treats and nibbles and go out for the day, may be to the coast or for a pretty walk somewhere.

If she has a passion, then indulge her. Does she like Gardening? Tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show, or dinner and show in London, Long weekend in Cornwall, or Edinburgh. If she hasn't had her colours done, consider contacting http://www.cmb.co.uk/services/ though this might be a double edge sword if she is v. image conscious,

Weekend in New York. Tell her to bring her passport and meet at the airport. Flight landing time is 2 hours after you take off but cos of the time difference she'll think it's Barcelona or something.

Then when in NYC do this:
Empire State
Helicopter ride at sunset over the city
Dinner in a swanky restaurant
Cocktails on the roof of the Met Museum

If that doesn't get you more brownie points than a beige brown thing then you may as well give up. Did it for Missus Woz's 40th and loved it. Plus with the $ being so weak it's not that pricey.

And you get what you pay for with hotels. We stayed at the Michealangelo which was brilliant.

Actually Tony, I personally love red underwear, but apparently I am the exception to the rule (that's what my other half says)

Well, she doesnt need pampering, I do that all the time. Eiffel tower, she doesnt like heights. Finnesetrre is a bit far to go for the day(spain). Weekend in N.Y.- Christmas days on Tuesday. Matt, shes not fat either, I do hope she doesnt read that, LOL. FLYMO, whats she want one of those for when shes got me!! We've got two weeks booked in the red sea, one in feb, the other in april, plus we done two weeks there last year, so thats not very different. I'd never dream of replacing her, she would'nt let me! Champagne breakfast- I dont think so,unless it's none alcoholic. Roz, she likes chocolate, and is a bit like Bridget Jones in the underware dept, comfort is what she goes for, not dental floss. And whats a shiny inspiration, not a ring as I've not long bought a new ring for her. I think it might be a day out at the seaside Adrian, unless something else comes along.

Cheers R O Y .:D

she likes chocolate

Check out Hotel Chocolat then http://www.hotelchocolat.co.uk/ They are a gourmet chocolate maker, with a sumptuous range of quite extraordinary products. They do mail order, and you have still got time to order for Christmas!

You might find this a handy solution in the future. We have a little book we keep in the kitchen drawer, and when we want something we write it in the little book. That way if the other person wants to surprise you with a present that you would love, all you do is consult the little book. That way it takes the stress out of buying something, and both parties are happy that what is given is really wanted. :) Happy Christmas!

I was rather hoping that was a hotel made of chocolate. Although my aforementioned present would probably be required if it was the case. Most definetly with regard myself. :D

Sorry Chris, but I'll still be sober on new years eve, I'm a recovering alcoholic who hasnt drunk alcohol for over 5 years. So that would be no supprise for her.

Ladies, please take note, if you could each produce a personal leaflet along the lines of the above and hand it to your current chap about 2 weeks prior to any special occasion, then that would be just great!

But whatever we got would still be wrong - 2 weeks is 14 times enough time to change minds :D

I find it increasingly difficult to get a gift for the love of my life. We have been married for sooooo... long (Ruby wedding in March) now, that all I ever get these days is, there is nothing that I want. That is until the day arrives and her indoors looks expectanly for a great and unsual present.

Women don't really understand how difficult it becomes over time to pick something they want/need. It so much easier with us lads as we do seem to have hobbies that need something new every few months.

If I had a wife like ROZ it would be so simple, just get her a nice twin set or computer or some RED undies. :D
