Hi All

Does anyone know a training provider to test Composite Cylinders in accordance with BS EN ISO 11623:2002 ‘Transportable gas cylinders – Periodic inspection and testing of composite gas cylinders’. Thanks in advance.

You could try SAS (Safety Air Services) - they used to do testing for all the BA cylinders for the Fire Service College, and composite are, to my knowledge, only used for land-based BA systems. London Fire Brigade have had them since at least 2001.

Don't have contact details for SAS, but they are a listed IDEST house, so a web search should do it.

Hi,

Think I may have misunderstood your post - are you looking for training to become a cylinder inspector? If so, then contact Stuart Meinert at STATS2000, he would certainly be able to help you with all your cylinder queries.

For testing also try

J.R.Services IDEST 3U
Unit 5 Warren Farm
Kentisbeare
Cullompton

Easy 5 mins off junction 28, M5.

For basic general testing training try Stewart Meinert's course but for specific composite knowledge in addition to the general course, the relevant manufacturers would need to be approached eg Luxfer, SCI.

I dont know if this any good but motor sport F1 use fiberglass 500bar cilinders.
They will get them tested somewhere ?

Good luck !
