Hi
hope someone can help, 2 weeks agoI went to a local watch repair shop who quoted me £35 for a battery change and pressure test for a Citizen Aqualnd watch. The shop in question has changed batteries and tested the watch at least twice before. They said that they had to send it off for testing and would take 2 weeks or so. I now have had a phone call saying they can't do it and it needs to go to Citizen to be done costing £60+. This I thought was expensive, and I'm hoping someone on the forum can point me to someone (hopefully in London) who can change the battery and test the watch for a reasonable price,

Have you tried contacting Citizen direct? The shop will probably be making a cover charge for handling and postage.

The citizen website doesn't give prices, and as the link to the service site email doesn't work and there is no phone contact I can't find out. As the watch is 12 years old it is outside the guarantee so I feel no need to send it to them.

I use Thewatchlab (http://www.thewatchlab.co.uk/), there is one in Manchester so it only takes about 2 hours as they do it while you wait but they have them around the country.
I used to use Citizen and yes they do take a while.

Thanks Fiona
All the branches are a bit far for me, but they do a postal service so I'l give them a try.

Try a branch of Timpson the key people, usually found in shopping malls, I noticed my local branch can do watch batteries and have a pressure tester.

If you're in SE Londnon, try Kent Diving in Dartford. They did my Citizen Pro Master for £45, including testing. They sent it off to Citizen, and it came back in a week, with a certificate of testing.
They're at:

I've got a Citizen Promaster Titanium and had the battery changed by them direct for £44 back in September.
Did it through the citizen website, just went tto the Post Office and sent it off.It was back within 5 days.
I've got a Citizen Promaster. I've had the battery changed twice by a tattood woman on a local market stall. Cost £2.50, and had it back in about 30 seconds :D

Thanks for the replies.
The original shop was my local branch of Timpsons. I have contacted other branches and found one local to my work which can do the battery change and test for £18:D . The problem seems to be that most places can't test to 200m which is the rated depth of the watch.
Thanks
