View Full Version : Diving around Dubrovnik
Am in S Croatia in Aug, although trip reports refer to a few islands, has anyone got info on that part of the Adriatic. Any tips would be most welcome.
Thanks

I went diving out of Hvar last summer. Was pretty good diving, think I wore a 5mm suit. The place I went no one really spoke English, but gerneric diving signs seemed to explain most things, plus the aid of some diagrams.
I was a meant to dive on another island but got blown own (Dubrovnik)
Another thing is you have to buy a license to dive in Croatia, think it helps protect reefs etc (so can only be a good thing). I think you need a photo to get this license.
I only did a couple of dives all pretty enjoyable reef dives. Would say not the best diving in the world, but certainly worth doing. Croatia has also got some awesome above water based things to do, so don't panic!!

Yes
Just got back Cavtat (20kms south of Dubrovnik). Dived with Epiduarum dive centre (part of Iberostar hotel complex). very good, professional, relaxed and yet essentially still a holiday place. Easy to find.
Very nice diving, viz up to 30m, water temp about 24 degrees and some cracking sites (could do with a little more life). I'll do a trip report for Alison's excellent section when i am ready.
