February 2006 is the high season here, so you do not have much time left.

What kind of boat are you looking for, how many people do you want on the boat, where do you want to go?

These questions basically determine the price you will have to pay, and the operator you book through of course, because not everybody charges the same for the same quality.

Let me know what you are looking for, and we can take care of things.

What I did....

checked out www.siamrealestate.com and rented a 3 bedroom villa in a complex of 8 (?35 per day) rented a Suzuki Caribean (?6 per day). Then did all our diving off www.sea-bees.com large (24m) dive boat. Their site at Chalong Pier was 5 mins from the villa at Nai Harn.
Best of both worlds, as when you are not diving you can relax around the pool. More details if you email me.

Sorry for my tardy reply but I've been away diving in Gibraltar. Thanks for the suggestions, I am already in touch with Steven at Sea Bees.

Good to hear that. Sea Bees boat looked to be the newest in the bay and was certainly well set up and run. The skipper put us right on all the sites he said he would and the crew were happy and chearful all the time. In case you don't know the boat leaves the pier at 8:00am and breakfast is onboard. You have a dive and they feed you, have a second dive and they feed you. Then depending on the day you have one or two more dives and they feed you after each, with snacks on the way back to Chalong. Seriously good cooking and diving. Coffee is available all the time you are on the boat and there is plenty of kitting up and relaxing room.
Can't comment on the dive guides as we didn't use one but they gave us a good briefing before throwing us in.
Can't go wrong with them...highly recomended.
