broken nose

finally recieved proof of rugby to my face yesterday in the form of a broken nose. when i asked the doctor about diving it was a big no due to possible damage to my sinuses.
does anybody have an idea of how long i should be waiting to get back into the water?

I would wait until you are cleared to dive again. Certainly give it a couple of months at least. Consult your GP, and if s/he won't commit, then speak with a dive doctor - see the UKSDMC website.

OI, I resemble that remark!

seriously though having had my nose busted, although not a diver at the time, you should certainly leave it a while as concussion is a funny thing too(but only if someone else has it!) I didnt think I had concussion from my break until 4 days later my newborn son hit me on the head with something really inocuous and I nearly passed out. kept having episodes for weeks but then he kept hitting me with things.........come to think of it he still does and we are 5 years on!:(
